What do I have to do to inherit?

Is it a matter of doing?

How does one inherit here earth?

How do you get written into the will?

Is it a matter of what you do?

Are the rules different for the inheritance in the Spiritual realm?

Is it what I do?

Or is it a matter of who is my Father?

Is it a matter of doing or a matter of being?

What do I have to do to inherit?

Be a Son/Daughter

Be adopted

Be His Child

Yes that is true...if we spend each day with Christ... But John says that there was a struggle because the men loved the darkness...

Im not sure im following you 4hisglory.
by beholding we become change right?
so as we spend each day with Christ we will grow more accustomed to the light, therefore further from the darkness of sin.

I am struck by how the text seems to labor on the concept of witnessing to God. God sends John to testify to us about who God is...Light. In 1 John 1:5 the apostle John further clarrifies this concept of God being Light. He is not just Light he is the Light that contains no darkness at all. Within the pages of John the gospel God is revealed a God that is wholly good, wholly Light.

In verse 18 we see a God explained by Jesus who has seen God face to face. Jesus came to explain what we don't understand (vs.5) because we are too used to the dark. I think of the time I have spent indoors and then walk into the light. I blink, I squint and I see so little.

I am struck by the text... John pointed people to the Light. He witnessed to the Light. When people see me and the way I live do they see more clearly the Light in which there is no darkness? The witness I leave with my life does it point to Jesus? Does it make straight the way of the Lord? Or does it add to the darkness? May we gaze upon the Light until we grow and behold and are forever changed.

WOW!!! There was so much in those two chapters. So I'm just going to talk about the beginning.

Christ really has experienced it all before us. He understands us so well. If His own town’s people did accept Him, then why am I so shocked when family and friends don't get it sometimes when I talk about my faith?

It's encouraging when He says to just brush the dust off and move on. The only thing is, who can walk away for the one's they love? Thankfully it is up to Christ to convict and not me. My job is to love them, accept them for who they are and pray.

I'm pretty behind on the readings, but I had to respond. These are some of the more beautiful passages and my favorite stories in the bible.

It amazes me the symbolism and how much it fits into our lives today. The simple truth of Christ' power to concur any storm, demon, or debilitating sin is the hope I cling to each day.

His grace, love and endless mercy is our only salvation. Its so mind blowing that it's a free gift that many of us doubt this extraordinary truth.

One last thought...It wasn't until a couple of years ago I saw a correlation between the possessed man and people how cut themselves to escape pain. We need to recognize the spiritual warfare that happening to this people. Satan has found away for them unknowingly give their pain to him instead of recognizing their need of Christ health power to completely remove their pain.

Mary how she must have rejoiced, though she was puzzled by the angels visit. Mary was told she had found favor with God. I want to find favor with God. I want to have the simple faith that responds to God's promise of the impossible happening, with a may it be as you have said. She was being presented with an absolutely horrorifing experience. Here she is a betrothed girl, virgin in a culture that stones those who cheat on their fiance or husbands. Joseph knows he hasn't touched her. How do you tell your fiance that your pregnant? It isn't his. You both know that. What do you say? Yet here is an angel who is telling you that you are favored. On further thought perhaps finding favor with God in this instance was going to be more complicated than I really want to deal with. LOL! You are going to give birth to the Messiah. This was the hope of the nation and yet, it had to be a little inconvient for those involved. According to Matthew Joseph did not have sex with his wife until after Jesus was born. That is just a little inconvient. Yet Mary's first response upon the angel's explanation of what is going to take place and how and why is, "Okay, I am your servant, do with me as you see best." May it be according to your word. She was willing to take what the angel said as truth. With God nothing will be impossible. It will work out. I trust that all these details are okay because you say so.
When I look at the situations of my life they are so small compared to what Mary was dealing with. How can I step out in faith as she did? How can I choose to trust even when it looks impossible, or inconvient to do what it is right? How can I too choose to be a bondslave of the Lord? Is it this process that leads to finding favor with God?

In the second verse it says that Jesus said he felt compassion for the people. I am struck by that phrase. Jesus sees us and He sees our needs, He sees my needs and He feels. It brings Him to a place of emotional response. He is moved to compassion. What needs do I see today? Do those needs move me to feel compassion for the people involved? Yet Jesus does more than just feel for the people. He takes what is available and applies it to the need. Why am I so often overwhelmed by the need and afraid to use what I have? I see needs that are big and what I have as small. Jesus did not have any food of His own even. He looked around, He called those with Him to look around. What do we have? Then He took what they had, small though it was and took action to remedy the situation. Yes, He was all powerful in the moment of need. Yes, we are not, but He makes His power available to us. The seeing of a need led to a serving of a great multitude which led to the changing of people. What needs do I see? What do I have available? How can I apply what I have to benefit others?

Special....

Angels, an aunt, a cousin, shepards, angels, an old man, an old woman, and a twelve year old boy lecturing the Jewish leaders.

Special...

An earthquake through the psyche of the nation of Israel. Messiah a child? An infant? He has come. It was either change or be left behind.

Special...

If He was so special where were the leaders?
